Christmas Craft

We got the idea to make these from our aunt who made them at a Pinterest night at the local pizza place.  We changed the poem a bit and the kids had a fun time putting them together.

First we  1. Cut red cardstock in pieces  4 inches by 5 1/2 inches.

               2.  Filled plastic bags bought from craft store ( 6 inch by 4 inch) with both red hots or red and white striped peppermint candies.

              3.   Folded the red cardstock over the top of the bag and stapled the bottom.

              4.  Typed and printed the poem.

              5.  Attached the poem to the front with a tape runner.

Here are the Poems:

Rudolph Nose Kits
Rudolph has a job to do
On Christmas Eve it's true
His nose will always light the way
For Santa and his loaded sleigh.
But if  his nose should ever fail
Don't cry or whine, you will prevail.....
Take out this bag and use a bit
From Rudolph's Red-Nose Repair Kit

Elf Pillows
Santa's elves are nodding
It's time for them to rest.
They've worked so hard for far too long
They always do their best.
Santa says "You clever chaps!
But now you elves must take your napes!
Please take these pillows to your bed
It's time to rest your weary heads!"

Cool sippy cup

We thought this was a neat idea!  Our kids ordered milk at the Angry Minnow in Rush City.  It came in a Mason jar with white meat wrapping paper over the top and secured by the metal ring.  Then the straw is stuck through the paper.  This is a much better idea then using plastic cups.

Finding deals in Las Vegas

We usually try to get to Las Vegas once a year and I thought I would share all the ways I find to make our dollars stretch.  This year I was able to find some really great ways to save money so that we could do more fun things.    The first thing I did was use Kayak.com to give me updates for when the prices of airfare change.  When the price drops, I get an email notification.  This year we were able to get one ticket free by using points from a  credit card.
For hotels, we usually stay at the same one every year and because we signed up for the players card, we get discounted rates and deals emailed to us.  We stay at MGM properties, usually at the Monte Carlo and this year they offered up 2 free nights to try to get us to return.   For the other nights, I used points earned through the Facebook game called Myvegas.  The game is free to play and you can accumulate LPs to use towards free rooms, shows and food.   You are limited to 3 rewards per person so between my husband and I we had 2 free buffets at the Monte Carlo, 2 free rooms at the Monte Carlo,  and 2 $50 gift cards to a restaurant at the Monte Carlo.   We also redeemed for non-MGM properties and got some free cotton candy at the Sugar Factory.   The MyVegas game is now on Mobile Phone and the LPs will accumulate between the computer and the mobile game.
I also always check Groupon.com and Livingsocial.com  for any destination I am heading to.   This year I was able to get discounted entrance fee to run in a local 5k,  a discounted meal at the Sugar Factory, and 2 discounted meals at the Paris Buffet.
I also always look on ebay for show tickets and activities to do.  This year I was able to snag a Wedding Vow Renewal package for just $1.99 at the Little Flower Chapel in Las Vegas.   They were wonderful and it was an amazing experience.  We were just responsible for  giving a tip to the minister and the photographer.
Another great deal I found was by reading posts on the Myvegas friends Facebook Group and the Vegas Rover Group.   These are groups that people post about how to maximize earnings and free stuff playing the MyVegas game and other great deals in Las Vegas.   It was on these sites that I heard about a discount code for seeing Veronic Voices at Bally's.  Using the code VPAPER on Ticketmaster.com, we were able to get 2 ticket for the show for only $2.50.   It was a really a good show!
